Description

What makes this guitar special: An absolutely killer ’79 Strat with a super cool vibe and a gorgeous patina. The Tobacco Sunburst finish has aged beautifully on this one, giving it a rich color that balances nicely against the black guard & pickups, as well as the rosewood board. The wear is all honest and consistent with its age, with visible weather checking that highlights its vintage aesthetic. As far as playability goes, this one is sublime-smooth action up and down the length of the fingerboard, and classic Strat tone. Professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, this one will arrive ready to play out of the case!

Cosmetic condition: Used but not abused, with some honest wear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with visible weather checking throughout much of the instrument. The fingerboard edges show visible staining and wear in the clearcoat, and there is tarnishing and oxidation on much of the hardware. The pickups have been swapped for contemporary Fender Custom Shop single coils, and the body was routed at some point it appears to accommodate stacked single coils. There is notable chipping in the finish in and around the treble side cutaway on both the body and neck. The neck has been refretted as well, and frets have a lot of life left in them. Overall, this one has a great look to it, with an honest vintage patina.

Body: Contoured double cutaway ash body in tobacco sunburst finish with 3-ply black pickguard and black pickup covers. String-through tremolo bridge with individually adjustable saddles.

Weight: 7 lb, 13.4 oz

Neck: C-shaped solid maple neck with walnut skunk stripe. Rosewood fingerboard is in awesome shape. Neck has been refretted, and while frets show wear, they still have life in them. Black side dots and white dot inlays. 1 5/8” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Headstock sports black Fender and Stratocaster logos, and dual strings trees. Original F-stamped Fender tuners work great. Bullet truss rod is functional.

Electronics: Replacement Fender Custom Shop single coil pickups (Neck-6.06k ohms, Middle-6.23k ohms, Bridge-6.65k ohms) with 5-way pickup selector switch and black skirted control knobs, 2x tone, 1x volume. Pots date to '75 and all electronics are fully functional.

Case: Original hard shell case included.
