Description
What makes this guitar special: A slick black-on-black model, from the acclaimed “good wood” era at Gibson. This one looks quite a bit like its vintage counterparts, with sleek body contours and sports a comfortable chunky neck profile with a quick ebony fingerboard (no longer offered on standard SG’s, or any production model for that matter). A previous owner "standardized" this one, upgrading the pickups to a set of Gibson humbuckers, and swapping the truss rod cover. Pro setup included, so all you gotta do is tune it!
Cosmetic condition: This one was definitely played – and for good reason! It sports plenty of playwear, including scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs, along with some surface level buckle rash and some binding shrinkage along much of the fingerboard edges. There is a very minor overlay separation near the top of the headstock as well.
Body: Solid double cutaway mahogany body in black finish with 5-ply black pickguard, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece.
Weight: 7 lb, 2.1 oz
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with gold Gibson logo. Two-stripe Gibson Deluxe tuners work great. Ebony fingerboard is in great shape, and frets show only light wear. There is some visible binding shrinkage along the fingerboard edges, but it doesn’t affect playability. Neck is straight and truss rod functions as it should.
Electronics: Dual Gibson USA humbuckers (Bridge-7.99k ohms, Neck-7.86k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. Bridge pickup appears to be off of an 80’s Gibson.
Case: Gigbag included.
