Description
What makes this guitar special: A really cool player-upgraded model, with great playability and terrific neck feel. These models are long discontinued and increasingly rare...and this has even been fitted with a Bigsby, for the true Chet enthusiast. It has been professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Pretty good shape, with some expected player’s wear throughout consistent with age. Various surface and playwear scratches, a bit of finish flattening and buckle rash on the back, along with some pickwear on the guard, and a few scuffs. The top has been drilled for the Bigsby, so if put back to original there will be two small holes. The original stopbar is included in the case.
Body: Double bound semi-hollow maple body in walnut finish with black “Tennessean” stamped pickguard, Tune-O-Matic bridge, black plexi armrest, and Bigsby tremolo tailpiece.
Weight: 8 lb, 11.9 oz
Neck: Nicely rounded medium profile mahohany neck with white side dots and offset pearl dot inlays. Ebony fingerboard is in terrific shape and while frets show some wear, there is plenty of life left in them. Headstock sports a black overlay with pearl Gibson logo and gold Chet Atkins signature. Two-stripe Gibson Deluxe tuners function as they should. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: Dual Gibson USA humbuckers (Neck-7.66K ohms, Bridge-10.01K ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and black speed knobs, 2x individual volume, 1x tone, 1x master volume.
Case: Original Gibson hard shell case included, along with original stopbar tailpiece.
