What makes this guitar special: An early model McCarty (third year of production) with a straightforward design, built for optimum resonance and versatile usage across many genres. The McCarty humbuckers sound terrific, with a full sound that does a really great job of respresenting the whole spectrum, especially with the addition of a push/pull coil tap. This one is in terrific shape for its age, and shows only some light playwear throughout, nowhere near what you’d expect from a 20-year old guitar. It’s been professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Great shape for its age with various light scratches, nicks, and scuffs from handling, along with a handful of small dings visible under particular lighting. There is also some light surface level buckle rash on the back, and visible tarnishing on the hardware. Cosmetically, this one is an 8.5/10.
Body: Solid double cutaway mahogany body with flamed maple cap in red burst finish. Wraparound stoptail bridge.
Weight: 8 lb, 9.7 oz
Neck: Wide/Fat mahogany neck with pearl side dots and pearl dot inlays. Nicely variegated rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and frets show almost no visible wear, with plenty of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 25” scale length. Vintage style tuners function perfectly. Neck is straight and truss rod functions as it should.
Electronics: Dual PRS McCarty humbuckers with 3-way pickup selector switch, push/pull coil tap, and black speed knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume.
Case: Original hard shell case.
