Description

What makes this guitar special: An earlier model JEM7V, with a super slim 1-piece maple neck and lightning fast ebony fingerboard (discontinued in 2004), beautifully inlaid with abalone vines and set gracefully against a white finish and golden appointments. The Floyd Rose locking tremolo ensures that you can wail away to your heart’s content without going out of tune, and the scalloped upper register lets you bend and squeal away with ease. Don’t forget about that iconic monkey handle, either-maintaining all the classic look that Vai has made famous for decades. As with all our guitars, it comes professionally setup and inspected by our expert in-house luthier, ready to play right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: This one has been played, and shows some good honest player’s wear throughout. There are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, scuffs, and chips throughout (mostly edgewear), with some visible buckle rash and light fretwear.

Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body finished in white with bass side monkey handle. Gold Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge with micro tuners, and multi-ply pearl spackled pickguard.

Weight: 7 lb, 7.3 oz

Neck: Slim 1-piece maple neck with white side dots and beautifully ornate vine inlay. Ebony fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets show only light wear, with a ton of life left in them. Scalloped upper register (inside the cutaway). Locking nut measures 1 11/16”. 25 1/2” scale length. White headstock overlay with gold Ibanez logo and cursive JEM logo. Gold Gotoh tuners function perfectly. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.

Electronics: Dual DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers in the neck (13.38K ohms) and bridge (13.54K ohms) positions, with DiMarzio V2 single coil in the middle position (11.98K ohms). 5-way pickup selector switch and white skirted knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone.

Case: Original hard shell case included, along with black tremolo arm. Please note, the Allen key for the Floyd Rose system is not included.
