What makes this guitar special: Modeled after Angus’s own ’68 Standard, these Signature SG’s are some of the nicest playing contemporary SG’s Gibson has produced. They’re nicely adorned with a devil schoolboy on the headstock and an Angus carving on the lyre, but beyond that feature a phenomenal neck profile and pickup combo that will absolutely blow you away. The 57 Classic in the neck provides the classic Gibson crunch you’re used to, while the Angus Young Signature humbucker in the bridge offers biting hot tone, perfect for all thing rock. It’s been professionally gone over and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Pretty good shape overall! Obviously played, but certainly not abused. There are various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, and scuffs throughout, with visible pickwear on the front and some flattening in the clear coat and mild buckle rash on the back. Frets show very light wear, but still have a ton of life left in them.
Body: Solid mahogany body with dual points and 5-ply black pickguard. Lyre tremolo tailpiece with Angus etching and Tune-O-Matic bridge.
Weight: 7 lb, 6 oz
Neck: D-shaped mahogany neck (just a bit chunkier than the standard '60s profile) with black side dots and pearl trapezoid inlays. Double bound rosewood fingerboard is in marvelous shape, and frets show only very light wear, with a lot of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo and gold Angus “Devil Schoolboy” logo, along with two-stripe Gibson Deluxe tuners, in perfect working condition. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.
Electronics: 57 Classic humbucker in the neck position, with Angus Young Signature humbucker in the bridge position. 3-way pickup selector switch and black witch hat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.
Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included.
