What makes this guitar special: A near perfect replica of Robby Krieger’s famous 1954 LP Custom, masterfully aged by the Gibson Custom Shop and signed by the artist himself. This piece is number 9 of 50, and plays with masterful ease while providing absolutely terrific tone. The Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker in the neck position provides beautiful warmth and punch and is a beautiful contrast to the biting P90 in the bridge position. Wide open, this guitar absolutely sings, with fabulous clarity and resonance thanks to the all mahogany construction. As with all our guitars, it has been professionally setup and inspected by our in-house master luthier, and will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Masterfully aged/relic’d, with all the real wear found on Krieger’s ’54 Custom replicated completely. Abundant finish checking throughout, along with dents, dings, chips, nicks, scratches, buckle rash, and even a couple holes in the body. Again, per the original, the neck pickup has been swapped for a SD mini-humbucker. This guitar looks like the real deal, with all the reliability of a new guitar.
Body: Solid double bound mahogany body in black finish with gold ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, gold stopbar tailpiece, and multi-ply black pickguard.
Weight: 8 lb, 7 oz
Neck: Solid fat profile mahogany neck with double bound ebony fingerboard, black side dots, and mother-of-pearl block inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4” scale length. Bound headstock with aged split diamond inlay and Gibson logo. Vintage style tuners function perfectly. Back of headstock features Robby Krieger signature with #9 in silver ink. Vintage style truss rod cover. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: SeymourDuncan mini-humbucker in the neck position (6.19K ohms) with P-90 single coil pickup in the bridge position (7.80K ohms). 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x volume, 2x tone.
Case: Original hard shell case included, along with Certificate of Authenticity.
