This Fender Custom Shop 1956 Journeyman Stratocaster is one of two nearly identical builds, the only difference being subtle finish nuances. Otherwise, they were built with the exact same specifications. Aesthetically, this is an absolutely classic Strat with very few frills. It features an Eric Clapton-style single-ply white pickguard and matching plastic appointments throughout, all contrasted against its perfectly light Black nitrocellulose lacquer finish for a dead simple look with tuxedo class. Its Journeyman finish tastefully gives it the look of a guitar that was not only often-played but well-loved, and even stretches into improving its playability, as the back of the neck has the finish removed in a realistic playing pattern, making it that much easier to move around. In terms of feel, the neck has a full in-hand profile with a 10/56 V shape that will perfectly suit players who like a bit of extra chunk. It comes fully-loaded with three Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups that capture the best elements of earlier single-coils without making players fight against extra noise. All in all, this guitar has exceptional overall playability, equally good sound and a look that’s nothing short of timeless.
