An overdrive that can go from classic sounding to rich and full, the Blue Note Tour Series from J Rockett Audio Designs is a versatile pedal with a smaller size and great tone from top to bottom. The volume, gain, and tone are all straight-forward, while the Fat knob adds in some additional low end and midrange to chunk up its sound a bit more. The right combinations produce everything from a clean boost to a perfectly gritty yet full-bodied gain to a fat jazz/blues drive and beyond, depending on the player’s taste. Plus, the Blue Note Tour Series is based off of the Blue Note OD circuit, so it still has its predecessor’s excellent tone but comes in a smaller, more pedalboard-friendly size and without the addition of the Hot switch.
