All we can say is WOW. Godin has done it again and refined an already brilliant concept into perfection and value. Only from Godin comes the the Kingpin II P-90 CW. The Kingpin II starts with an amazing guitar and takes it up a notch. Add two P-90 vintage style pickups to the already outstanding 5th Ave. arch top and you've one incredible instrument. The amplified tone of this guitar is just excellent, it's mellow yet percussive, it's got excellent dynamic range and a very even tone across its range. The guitar even sounds good with some nice tube gain! The Godin designed P-90 pickups have a wonderful vintage character and the trademark punch and presence but with a bit less noise then a traditional P-90 style pickup. Godin is arguably the very 1st guitar maker to offer an arch top guitar of such high quality at such an affordable price. When the 5th Ave. was introduced in 2008 the reaction was so positive there were barely enough to meet the high demand. An internet search for "Godin" 5th Ave. will invariably return countless favorable reviews. We have not me a guitar player yet who did not appreciate this instrument. Simply put the 5th Ave. sounds great, looks great, and plays great. The tone is bright, woody and clear, with excellent note articulation and nice sustain. Additionally it plays very well with nice action and Godin's consistently excellent fretwork. Finally you can have the arch top you've always wanted!
