Features:
Description: Exceptionally rare 1965 Fender Jaguar in original black with gold sparkle finish! Early 60’s blonde tolex hardshell case is included. This guitar was featured in the 1996 Vintage Guitar Calander (December), a copy of which is included with the sale. We acquired this instrument from Pete Flynn of Legacy Guitars. This was from his personal collection & below is his account of the history on the guitar: Ownership History and Notes from Pete Flynn: “Nate Westgore got it from the uncle of the original owner who was supposedly the Fender rep. (the guitar was purchased from the owner through the Sound Post of Evanston and Nate bought it from the Sound Post. Nate worked at the Sound Post at the time. This was in the early 1980's.) We (at Flynn Guitars) made a trade to Nate in 1984 when we were at 922 Noyes St., Evanston, IL. 60201. We traded him a first year blackface Fender Twin amplifier. This guitar stayed in our personal collection ever since. It hung on display in our vintage room but it was never for sale. George Gruhn would visit his mother who lived in Glencoe, IL in the summers and then stop by the shop to see us. At one visit he said this guitar was the only one made in that color. Supposedly there were 3 Strats & 5 Jazzmasters made in that color, (or 5 Strats & 3 Jazzmasters, I can't recall).” Cosmetic Condition: Very good condition overall with some minor chips in the finish, mostly on the treble side. There are a few cracks in the pickguard as well & light surface sratches. Neck: Slender maple neck with beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. The neck overall is in great shape with a gorgeous patina to it. The neck date is 1 JUNE 65 B. Body: Offset, double-cutaway solid body in ultra-rare custom finish! 2-ply black pickguard & chrome hardware. Pickups: Dual Jaguar single coil pickups - both pickups measure about 6.30K ohms. Original pots, cap & wiring. Both pots date to 1963. Set Up: Professionally set up by our luthier & strung with brand new Ernie Ball .10-.46 gauge Slinkys. Playability / Sound: Nice, low action; smooth playing neck; gorgeous tone - classic Jaguar! Here's a great opportunity to own a very unique piece of Fender history!
