What makes this guitar special: A stripped down version of one of the most popular semi-hollow bodies of all time, this Gibson ES-335 Studio is every part the classic without a few extra appointments. At its heart, this guitar still possesses many of the elements that make the standard so timeless. Its semi-hollow body construction not only provides that familiar woody acoustic resonance, but also plays into its inherent tonal qualities when amplified. With a ’57 Classic in the neck and Super ’57 Classic in the bridge, this guitar is able to easily traverse into traditional tone, from big and warm to crisp and chime-y and everything in between. Aesthetically, it still represents the line admirably, boasting an updated take on a traditional burst with its Ginger Burst finish that looks just as fantastic without contrasting binding. It also maintains excellent overall playability between its soft C shape maple neck, traditional body contours and solid neck-to-body balance. Plus, if all that wasn’t enough, this guitar is still in fantastic shape for being used, includes its original hardshell case and will receive a full professional setup before being shipped out so it plays beautifully as soon as it’s tuned to pitch.
Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition, if not near mint. It shows very few, if any, signs of wear outside of a very light surface scratch here or there and is otherwise incredibly clean for a used guitar. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod and electronics have been fully tested and all function perfectly.
Body: Double cutaway semi-hollow body with 3-ply maple top, back and sides in Ginger Burst finish. Unbound F-holes. Nickel ABR-1 style 6-saddle bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Black top hat control knobs. Nickel hardware.
Neck: Soft C shape one-piece maple neck and 12” radius torrified maple fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Black corian 1.6875” nut. Grover nickel Rotomatic tuning machines.
Electronics: ’57 Classic humbucker in the neck and Super ’57 Classic humbucker in the bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Case: Original hardshell case.
