Description

What makes this guitar special? This is a great vintage guitar with a lot of potential and would make a great project guitar for a luthier. The guitar’s overall appearance has aged gracefully, as it shows only minor marks throughout its body and neck, and has deepened and warmed in color, a fair match for its tone. A majority of the guitar is in good condition outside of the top/bridge, but a little love and some knowhow from a luthier could bring this great guitar back into shape.

Condition: This guitar is in fair condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, and scratches throughout the body and neck. The body doesn’t show too much in terms of wear and is still pretty clean for its age, but the bridge is pulling on the top a decent amount and causing it to warp. The bridge plate is still in tact, but isn’t currently strong enough to keep the top from warping as is. The neck is actually relatively straight and the guitar still plays ok, but the action is about 1/8” at the 12th fret. The frets show mild wear but still have some life left in them.

Body: Dreadnought body with multi-ply binding around a spruce top, and bound mahogany back and sides. Rosewood bridge with uncompensated saddle. Three-ring rosette. Black pickguard.

Neck: Medium round C shape mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Chrome sealed tuning machines. 1 7/8” nut width. Zero fret nut.

Electronics: Basic electronics system with endpin jack. Functions and sounds great.

Weight: 5.45 lbs

Playability/Sound: The medium round C shape is very easy to move around, even for a wider 12-string neck. Even with the current action, it still plays decently well. The tone has nice matured warmth, an open-sounding spruce top, and an expressive midrange.

Case: No case included.
