Description
Cosmetic Condition: Cool player's grade vintage guitar with lots of character. The back of the body has been completely replaced with a newer piece of mahogany & all the internal braces have also been replaced. The rest of the guitar, however, is original. The guitar came to us like this, so we suspect the back must have sustained some major damage at some point in order for it to be replaced. The work was well done & the voice of the guitar is still quite pleasant - very rich & warm sounding. Throughout the guitar there are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & general play wear. There are no cracks & the guitar has been professionally set up by us with a fresh pack of strings & low action, so it plays great! Overall it has a beautiful look with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Semi-chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Open-back strip tuners with cream buttons are in perfect working condition. The high E button must have come loose at some point as evidenced by some light glue residue around it. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, small body acoustic with solid spruce top finished in sunburst. Rosewood bridge with cream end pins. The bridge was pulling up a bit when we got the guitar so our luthier professionally re-glued it. Tortoise pickguard & 3-ply rosette. Original mahogany sides with replaced mahogany back. Guitar weighs about 4 lbs. No pickup.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
