Description
What makes this bass special: A spectacular player with awesome tone & feel. The bass was professionally refinished & has a brand new pickguard on it. Super comfy neck that plays great up & down the fretboard. Set up by our own master luthier so it's ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for its age with a cool vintage vibe - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches. Overall the bass has great look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with beautiful dark Brazilian rosewood slab fingerboard & clay dot inlays. The neck was probably oversprayed about the same time the body was refinished. Original frets are in great shape with hardly any wear & original nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine. Neck date reads 7-60.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body refinished in a really cool orangey shade of sunburst with black shielding paint inside the cavities. Original top-loading bridge with four adjustable saddles. Bridge cover is missing. Newer 4-ply tortoise pickguard still has the plastic wrap over it. The pickup cover & finger-rest are missing. Bass weighs 8 lbs 6.2 oz.
Electronics: Original split single coil - 10.56K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs. Volume pot is newer & dates to the 90's, but the tone pot dates to '60. All electronics are in perfect working condition. The neck/body connection is very tight & makes for great tonal response & resonance.
Case: Later period Fender hardshell case included. The case dates from around '65.
