Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a beautiful Southern Jumbo that sounds nice now and has the potential to sound even better. There are two cracks on the top shoulders, one on each side of the neck. While one has been partially repaired, the neck will need to be removed to fully repair this area of the body. This is the kind of guitar that you can tell from playing has tons of potential to sound even better with this work done. It already resonates nicely and has a warm sound. The neck is very comfortable with great playability.
Condition: Cosmetically this guitar is in pretty good shape for its age. There are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking. It has just enough play wear to give it that cool, vintage look and feel! The guitar plays very comfortable as it is but with the previously mentioned word done to the shoulders, it will play and sound even better. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with heavier wear in some areas and plenty of life left in them. The neck is nice and straight with comfortable action and the truss rod functions perfectly.
Body: double-bound body with solid Spruce top and mahogany back and sides in natural finish. The binding has developed a great patina giving the guitar an excellent look! Rosewood height-adjustable bridge with a rosewood saddle. The ends of the saddles are partially broken where the screws attach but the saddle works perfectly. 3-point tortoise pickguard and multiple inlaid rings around the sound hole.
Neck: Slender mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Split pearloid inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Vintage Kluson Deluxe Double-Stripe tuners with ivoroid buttons, 24.5” scale length.
Weight: 4lbs, 9.1oz.
Case: Includes a later period Gibson hardshell case.
