Description
What makes this guitar special: A great playing Hofner solid body electric with a super cool, true vintage vibe. Made in Germany in the '60s this Deluxe Model 173 features a triple pickup configuration & tremolo tailpiece that works surprisingly well. A nicely rounded maple neck that gets chunkier as you work your way up the fretboard is very comfortable to play & a pro set up from the experts at Cream City Music ensures the guitar is ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great, well-played look about it with a nice patina.
Neck: Medium-profile, rounded maple neck with beautiful rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. The guitar was professionally refretted & there is no wear in them. The original tuners were replaced with Yamaha Japan. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Contoured, solid maple body in two-tone sunburst finish. Some nice flame figuring can be seen in the top & back. Tremolo tailpiece with adjustable bridge. 3-ply large white pickguard has aged over time & turned into more of a parchment color. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 9.4 oz.
Pickups: The neck & bridge pickups are Hofner "staples" & the middle is a Hofner "diamond", each with its own on/off switch. Master volume & triple tone controls. The pot for the bridge tone control has worn out more than the others & acts more like a volume control now.
Case: Newer, Reverend hardshell case included.
