What makes this guitar special: Made famous by Chris Isaak, these Silvertone 1446 models carry a super cool vintage vibe, with terrific playability and premium features. The Gibson-made mini humbuckers are soulful and warm sounding, with plenty of bite for ample versatility across many genres…made even more versatile by the factory Bigsby tailpiece. The semi-hollow construction is uber resonant too-giving this guitar a distinct sound that is rather hard to replicate. This particular piece is super clean for its age as well, with only modest playwear and few signs of aging-it even has the original chipboard case! As with all our pieces, it comes professionally setup and inspected by our top-notch in house luthiers, ready to play as soon as you get your hands on it.
Cosmetic condition: Great condition, with some expected playwear throughout. Various surface scratches throughout, as well as some small nicks, dings, dents, and a handful of chips in the finish. There is some visible weather checking in a few areas, most notably on the headstock. The pearl block inlays have browned some over time, and the bracket mounting screw for the pickguard is missing. For its age, this guitar is an overall 8.5/10.
Body: Single cutaway hollow body with dual f-holes in black finish. 6-ply bound top and single ply bound back. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with floating rosewood bridge and white pickguard.
Weight: 6 lb, 10.2 oz
Neck: Semi-chunky maple neck with black side dots and pearl block inlays. Inlays have browned over time, but have a great look to them as a result. Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape and while frets show wear consistent with age, they still have a great deal of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod works fine.
Electronics: Dual Gibson mini-humbuckers (Neck-7.95K ohms, Bridge-7.24K ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and cream colored cupcake knobs, 2x volume, 2x tone. All electronics are in full working order.
Case: Original chipboard case included. Case is in great shape!
