Description

What makes this guitar special: A magnificent piece of Gibson history, in completely original condition and sporting one of the most gorgeous patinas you could ever ask for. This one is covered head to toe in stunning checking patterns, and is a quintessential example of the instrument famously played by so many legendary musicians. Last year of the small guard, with a set of early Patent No. Sticker humbuckers that sound absolutely incredible, and a chunky neck feel that is so comfortable you’ll have to be pried away from playing it. Professionally inspected and set up by the experts at Cream City Music, this beauty will arrive ready to play out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Marvelous condition, with some wear and tear consistent with age. Various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, scuffs, and small chips in the finish, with ample finish checking throughout the entire guitar. There is a chip in the nut next to the high E, and another in the low E-string bridge saddle. The upper corner of the pickguard has chipped off, and there is some expected warpping in the guard as well. The silver insert on one of the tone knobs is missing. Overall, this guitar has a gorgeous look to it, with a beautiful patina.

Body: Solid mahogany body in cherry finish. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Maestro tremolo tailpiece (works great!). Black pickup bezels and 5-ply black pickguard.

Weight: 7 lb, 3.3 oz

Neck: Chunky C-shaped solid mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl trapezoid inlays. Bound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in marvelous shape with no pitting. Frets have ample life left in them. 1 9/16” nut width (feels wider thanks to the chunky neck), 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with aged pearl Gibson logo and crown. Original two ring Klusons function perfectly. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.

Electronics: Original Patent No. Sticker humbuckers (Bridge-7.91k ohms, Neck-7.34k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. Electronics appear undisturbed and original. All electronics have been tested are in full working order.

Case: Original hard shell case included. Case is in similar shape to the guitar, with some wear and tear and some stains on the interior. However, there is no tobacco odor associated with either the guitar or case.
