Description

What makes this guitar special: A really clean vintage Precision, finished in an eye-catching sunburst, with clear color definition and a pleasing red hue. This beauty plays as great as it looks, with a tight neck/body connection and fantastic resonance. It showcases only some light wear, with just enough checking to give it a classic vintage look. The straight grain patterns in the rosewood on the fingerboard look absolutely fantastic, while it’s tone is everything it should be, thanks to a ‘60s voiced Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickup. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music, it will arrive ready to play out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Very clean overall shape, with some light wear and tear throughout. There are various light scratches, dents, dings, nicks, scuffs, and chips present, with a handful of areas of finish wear and visible weather checking throughout much of the instrument. The pickups have been replaced with a set of ‘60s voiced Seymour Duncan Antiquities, which sound absolutely fantastic. The pickguard is a contemporary reproduction. The original guard is included in the case, however, it has shrunk over time and will not fit in its present condition. Mounting it would require modification to the guard itself, or new holes to be drilled in the body. A previous owner had installed a thumbrest instead of the standard tugbar, as such there are two holes drilled in the top of the body, and a previous owner wrote his initials on the top in permanent marker beneath the guard. Overall, this one has a great look to it, with a terrific vintage patina.

Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body in 3-tone sunburst finish. Reproduction tortoise pickguard, original tugbar, and top-loading bridge with individually adjustable threaded barrel saddles. Original bridge cover is included, however, the original pickup cover is not.

Weight: 8 lb, 7.8 oz – great weight!

Neck: Nicely rounded solid maple neck with pearl side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 3/4" nut width, 34” scale length. Open gear tuners function perfectly. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in awesome shape, and frets show only light wear with a ton of life left. Neck is straight and truss rod functions as it should. Neck dates to October of ’66.

Electronics: Replacement Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups with knurled chrome knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume. Pots are original and date to ’66. All electronics have been tested and are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hard shell case included. Case is in fantastic shape, and showcases only light wear for its age.
