Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, with typical play wear for its age - showing off that perfectly aged look for a 50 year old bass - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a cool true vintage vibe & a beautiful patina.
Neck: Rounded, two-piece maple neck with nicely aged cream binding. The previous owner notched really tiny fret markers in the binding. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Raised gold Hofner headstock logo. Open-back tuners with pearloid buttons in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width with zero fret; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Violin-shaped hollow body with multi-bound top & back. Solid spruce top with maple back & sides in sunburst finish. There's some really gorgeous flame figuring in the back. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with adjustable ebony bridge. Pearloid pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. There is one extra screw hole in the treble side of the body near the neck joint. Bass weighs 4 lbs 9.7 oz.
Pickups: "Staple" pickups with black bezels. Pearloid control plate with "tea cup" volume knobs. Rhythm/Solo, Bass & Treble switches all in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included, in about the same condition as the bass - perfectly aged.
