Description

What makes this guitar special: A stellar ‘60s D-18, with a terrific vibe and phenomenal playability. The woods on this one have opened up beautifully, giving it a voice that is positively stellar, and far better than many of its contemporaries. The highs are well punctuated, and the low end is responsive, perfectly suited as a vocal accompaniment. Professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, this one will arrive ready to play.

Cosmetic condition: Used but not abused, with some good honest wear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with visible pickwear on the top and finish checking throughout. The neck has been refretted, and frets have a lot of life left in them. There was previously some pitting in the first few frets that has been professionally filled in. This does not affect playability at all but is visible under close scrutiny. The bridge has been sanded down visibly, however, there is a lot of room left on the saddle and the neck angle is great, with terrific action. The neck has been reset, and there is some visible evidence of this at the neck heel, however, this is purely cosmetic. There is no separation present at all. Overall, the guitar has a beautiful look to it, with a fantastic patina.

Body: Double bound solid mahogany back & sides with solid Sitka Spruce top in natural finish. Multi ring ebonoid/ivoroid rosette and black pickguard. 3 ply purfling and Indian Rosewood bridge with white bridge pins.

Weight: 4 lb, 2.6 oz

Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 3/4" nut width, 25.4” scale length. Rosewood headstock overlay with gold C.F. Martin logo and Grover tuners in perfect working order. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and while frets show some light wear they have a lot of life left in them. Neck is straight, action is low, and the guitar plays easily up and down the length of the instrument.

Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included.
