Description

What makes this guitar special: This vintage beauty has been well cared for, and is in great condition for its age. The neck feel is an amazingly comfortable C-shape with a slight taper, making chording and lead lines a breeze in any position. The resonant semi-hollow tone is warm and vibrant, courtesy of the two DeArmond humbuckers. The wear and tear is relatively minimal for its age, with just enough weather checking to highlight its vintage aesthetic. Professionally setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this well-made piece will arrive ready to play out of the case. All you’ll have to do is tune it.

Cosmetic condition: Good condition for its age. There are various small surface scratches, nicks, dings, and scuffs throughout the instrument, as well as some finish wear on the back of the neck and weather checking throughout. There is some finish cracking on the sides of the headstock due to some shrinking of the headstock overlay, and in a few small spots on the back of the body. The frets show some pitting from 1-6, primarily beneath the D and G strings. The binding has aged nicely into a creamy yellow, with some visible shrinking (most notably in the cutaways), but no cracking, and only some very light browning near the rear strap button.

Body: Laminated double bound mahogany body in sunburst finish with dual f-holes. “G” trapeze tailpiece and adjustable bridge with rosewood base. Original pickguard is still intact, and shows no signs of cracking or lifting, though it does sport some expected pickwear. One of the fastening screws appears to be a replacement.

Weight: 7lb, 15.5oz

Neck: Solid, double bound mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl dot inlays. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is in good overall shape with some pitting in frets 1-6 primarily beneath the D and G strings, and frets have only minimal wear, with a ton of life left in them. 1 5/8” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Headstock sports mother-of-pearl Guild and Chesterfield logos, and open gear tuners in fully functioning condition. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.

Electronics: Original DeArmond humbuckers (Neck-7.06K ohms, Bridge-7.14K ohms) with black bezels. 3-way nickel pickup selector switch with black “G” stamped tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.

Case: Non-original TKL hard shell case included.
