Description

What makes this guitar special: This beauty has all the right mojo you want in a vintage piece, with fantastic playability and a warm and resonant tone. The mahogany back and sides provide a full low end with a toasty midrange, and just enough high end chime to round out the sound. This guitar has been well-loved, and has tons of character and to stories to tell, with plenty more to come. It comes professionally setup and inspected by one of Cream City Music’s in-house luthiers, and will arrive ready to play.

Cosmetic condition: Good, honest playwear throughout-various nicks, dings, dents, chips, scratches, and scuffs throughout, with some expected weather checking. The back of the neck shows considerable finish wear, as someone clearly played this thing thoroughly. The original tuners have been replaced with some very cool Pat. Pending Grover tuners, so the holes from the originals are visible. Pickguard seems to be unoriginal but is in great shape. There is a paper thin gap at the back of the bridge, some bellying visible on the top, and the neck appears to have been refretted. A pickup was added at some point long ago and appears to work intermittently. As such, this piece is not being sold as an acoustic/electric.

Body: Double bound laminated mahogany back and sides with solid spruce top in burgundy finish. Multi-ring brown rosette, tortoise pickguard, and rosewood bridge with black bridge pins. Lower bout width measures 15 3/4"  across with 5” depth. Upper bout width measures 11 1/2" across with 4 1/4" depth.

Weight: 5lb, 4.5oz

Neck: Comfortable C-Shaped mahogany neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape. Neck has been refretted, and frets have a full lifetime of use left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod is functioning fine. Headstock features a gold Guild logo and Grover Pat. Pending tuners with pearloid buttons, in perfect working condition.

Playability/Tone: Fantastic tone in a well-worn package with a very cool vintage aesthetic. This is your chance to own a great sounding vintage piece on the cheap. The rounded neck affords maximum playability up and down the length of the rosewood fingerboard, with terrific projection courtesy of the arched back design.

Case: Original hard shell case included.
