Description
What makes this bass special: A superb player's grade Jazz Bass with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. Aside from the poorly refinished body, brass nut & gold finger rest, the bass is all original and sounds fantastic! Classic '60s Jazz Bass tone - warm & rich with nice dynamics & punch when you need it. Professionally set up by Cream City Music, so it plays & sounds amazing!
Cosmetic Condition: The body has been completely refinished, but the neck was left alone. Overall the bass is in pretty good shape for its age with some typical wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some light finish wear. A small portion of the binding is missing from the bottom side of the neck & the nut was replaced with a brass one. There are also a couple of extra small screw holes in the headstock near the E tuner from a previous string tree that was unoriginal.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Nickel Fender tuners are in perfect working condition. Neck is straight & truss rod functions well. Neck stamp reads 7 AUG 69 A.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body amateurly refinished in Olympic White. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles & original bridge cover. Four-ply tortoise pickguard shows some pick scratches & wear, but is in great shape overall with no cracks. Later-period gold Fender finger-rest. Bass weighs 9 lbs 4.4 oz.
Pickups: Original Jazz Bass single coils with original chrome cover. Dual volume & master tone controls; pots date to '66 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
