Description

What makes this guitar special? This is a rare Kingman with an even rarer Fender-branded DeArmond pickup. Overall, this guitar looks fantastic. Every element has aged gracefully from the binding to the finish and, along with its flame maple back and sides, has a warm aesthetic that makes it not only incredibly inviting to look at, but also to play. Outside of the normal finish checking that only proves to add to its vintage vibe, it is extremely clean, especially for its age. It has a classic dreadnought sound with a nice full mid-range, subdued lows, and a crisp high end, all of which have matured and opened up nicely as a whole and are well-represented by the pickup when plugged in. All in all, this is an awesome and rare guitar that comes from a unique point in history and it shows.

Condition: This Kingman is in excellent condition overall. It has very few marks in it, and the ones that do exist are light surface scratches and small dings, as well as normal finish checking. Otherwise, this guitar is in fantastic shape, especially considering its age. The frets show only mild wear and still have quite a bit of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Dreadnought body with a multi-ply bound spruce top, and flame maple multi-ply bound back and sides in Natural finish. Multi-ring rosette. 4-ply gold pickguard. Rosewood bridge with metal individually length-adjustable saddles. Aluminum support rod through body.

Neck: Bolt-on C shape maple neck with neckplate. Bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl rectangle inlays. Sealed Fender tuning machines. Heel adjust truss rod.

Electronics: Rare DeArmond-made Fender branded pickup.

Weight: 6 lbs 5.6 oz

Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar feels like it looks: slick and easy like a Strat neck. The action is nice and low and plays great, especially for a guitar of this age. Great mid-range response and decent projection with a crisp high end and subtle bass response. The pickup has good transparency and easy access volume and tone controls right on top.

Case: Includes Yamaha hardshell case.
