Description

What makes this guitar special: A fantastic-sounding, true vintage through and through, this ES-345TD not only has top-notch tone, but plays great head to toe and still has quite a bit of shine left in it. Its Patent No. pickups sound phenomenal in both positions, from the warm and full response of the neck to the classic upper mid-range character in the bridge that gave these pickups such a devout following. The neck is traditionally thin in both directions, with a 1 9/16” nut and a slim C shape that together provide a very easy neck to move around. Plus, for a vintage piece that’s surpassed 40-years-old, this guitar is still in fantastic shape and shows only light play wear and various minor love marks throughout.  Comes with its original hardshell case, and ships with a pro setup so it plays as great as it sounds!

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does show various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, a small amount of finish sink/checking, and other forms of light play wear, but is still in fantastic shape for a guitar that’s over 40 years old. It has been refretted, but the current frets show only very light wear if any and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should. Modified for a mono instead of a stereo output and as such the Varitone switch is limited to only two positions tonally.

Body: Double cutaway, double-bound semi-hollow body with a maple back, sides, and an arched maple top in Wine Red finish. 4-ply raised black pickguard. Gold Tune-o-matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece. Gold hardware. Black witch hat control knobs with gold inserts.

Neck: Slim to medium depth C shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays. Unoriginal vintage-style tuning machines with keystone keys. 1 9/16” nut width. 24.75” scale length. .78” deep at the 1st fret and .97” deep at the 12th.

Electronics: Patent No. pickups. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 1 x 3-way pickup selector. 1 x Varitone switch. Modified for a mono instead of a stereo output and as such the Varitone switch is limited to only two positions tonally.

Neck: 7.51k Ohms

Bridge: 7.42k Ohms

Weight: 8 lbs 9.6 oz

Playability/Sound: The slim C shape and thin nut width make for a very easy-playing neck that most players will have extended reach over. The Patent No. pickups sound fantastic in both positions, chock-full of big warm response in the neck and killer upper mid-range definition and character in the bridge that adds in a bit of that classic vintage jangle.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
