Description

What makes this guitar special: A fantastic player, with a super cool vintage vibe! This Deluxe is in great shape for its age, with just enough wear to be broken in. The mini-humbuckers sound positively fantastic, capable of everything from warm bluesy tones in the neck position, to crisp rock n roll leads in the bridge position-with just enough treble to cut through the mix without taking your head off. The rounded D-profile neck sits comfortably in-hand, affording effortless access to the entire fingerboard. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this piece will arrive ready to play out of the case!

Cosmetic condition: Great shape for its age with some honest wear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with areas of finish checking present and visible tarnishing on the hardware. The bridge is a vintage replacement (original is included in the case but has one snapped intonation screw). The finish has chipped off in a few areas at the base of the neck heel and in an area across the volute, but this is purely cosmetic, there are no structural issues at all. Frets show wear consistent with age, but all notes intonate properly and ring clear along the length of the fingerboard.

Body: Single cutaway solid mahogany body in cherry sunburst finish with bound maple cap. Off-white colored pickguard and pickup bezels. Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece.

Weight: 9 lb, 9.4 oz

Neck: D-shaped 3-piece maple neck with black side dots and pearl trapezoid inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4” scale length. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo, gold Les Paul Model logo, and “Deluxe” truss rod cover. Original Gibson tuners with tulip buttons work great. Rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and while frets show wear consistent with age, they still have life in them. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional.

Electronics: Original Gibson Mini-Humbuckers (Bridge-6.31k ohms, Neck-6.11k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and gold speed knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. Pickups date to ’79. Pots date to ’78. All electronics have been tested and work great.

Case: Original red-lined Gibson hard shell case included.
