What makes this guitar special: A fabulous recreation of an iconic transition-era model, finished in a dazzling burgundy mist, with a light relic to give it a classic vintage look. The neck carve on this piece is terrific, a full rounded profile that falls somewhere between a “C” and a “U”. The Fat 50’s single coils provide clear bell-like tones, that are extremely reminiscent of their vintage counterparts. This is about as close to the original as you can get. As always, professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and ready to play out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Factory relic’d, with various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs throughout, along with finish wear on the bass side of the top where the arm rests, and aged hardware. A previous owner used a polish on the fret board which has left some slightly bluish-green residue in the grain. This does not affect playability, and should wear away with a handful of hours of playing. Beyond the relic, this piece is in great shape!
Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body in burgundy mist finish with 3-ply white pickguard and string-through six saddle tremolo bridge.
Weight: 7 lb, 12.8 oz
Neck: Rounded C/U solid maple neck with pearl side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. 9.5” radius. Vintage style nickel tuners work great. Rosewood fingerboard is in excellent shape, and frets show almost no visible wear. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional.
Electronics: Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Fat ‘50s single coil pickups (Neck-7.03k ohms, Middle-6.70k ohms, Bridge-6.61k ohms) with 5-way pickup selector switch and white skirted knobs, 2x tone, 1x volume.
Case: Original hard shell case included, along with Certificate of Authenticity.
