This is the new Gretsch Electromatic Hollow Body Bass Guitar model G5442BDC in high gloss transparent red finish. The Electromatic Hollow body models are some of the most popular on the market due to their tremendous tone and playability combined with great Gretsch style. They capture the classic Gretsch sound and vibe at an affordable price. The bass is a full hollow body arch top with a floating bridge design and parallel bar bracing with a sound post. The sound post adds stability to the structure and increases sustain while allowing the guitar to retain the essential hollow body sound. The playability of the G5442BDC is great with nice low action and excellent fretwork. The neck is "C" style shape with a low profile but not too thin. The new "Black Top" Filter’Tron pickups are excellent with full bodied tone and a warm vintage character. The bridge pickup is bright punchy with a well defined and retro sounding midrange and the neck pickup is deep and tubby sounding with a more "scooped" tonal character. The bass sounds terrific through a tube amp as well as a more modern bass guitar amp. We are a long standing fully authorized independent Gretsch guitar dealer.

Why We Love Gretsch

Gretsch has been handcrafting guitars for over 135 years. The unique sound of the Gretsch semi-hollow body guitar has become synonymous with rockabilly music, one of the first styles of rock ‘n roll. Gretsch guitars are a favorite among musicians like Chet Atkins, Brian Setzer and George Harrison. At Cream City Music, we love Gretsch too, which is why we always have a huge selection of new, used and vintage Gretsch guitars in stock.
