It hearkens back to Gretsch's earlier days by revisiting the first year that the Duo Jet used Filter'Tron pickups, so this one stays true to its tonal roots. The guitar's chambered mahogany body and vintage "V" shaped neck provide excellent resonance and stability throughout. The G6128T-59's dual TV Jones Classic pickups are designed to recreate the original 1959 Duo Jet's first-year Filter'Tron pickup tone. A few other nice touches on the G6128T-59 Duo Jet include aged pearloid neo-classic Thumbnail inlays, a Space Control bridge, and a 1-ply Vintage White pickguard, all of which aid in the guitar's playability while also exemplifying its vintage aesthetic. The Duo Jet is the Gretsch flagship "solid body" guitar, with signature power and punch coming from its chambered mahogany construction, which magnifies harmonic richness by letting air resonate between the top and body for livelier and more articulate tone. 1959 marked the first year that Filter'Tron pickups appeared on the Jet, and the dual TV Jones Classic pickups on this vintage-style baby replicate that unmistakable vintage Filter'Tron sound to fabulous sonic effect.
