Description

The G6228 Players Edition Jet BT features all-new pickups, a select mahogany body, and the remarkable performance synonymous with Gretsch Players Edition guitars. Its chambered mahogany body provides the best combination of lightweight feel and resonance, with a 1.85” body depth that aids in your picking attack for a fully-realized sound and in-hand feel. This guitar is also unique in its V-Stoptail, making it a great alternative to Jet models with Bigsby vibrato systems. The G6228 also features Gretsch's all-new Broad'Tron BT65 pickups, which were designed by renowned pickup guru Tim Shaw. They are designed for versatility first - a well-balanced overall sound that not only cleans up nicely, but has plenty of power for overdriven tone.

About the Guitar (from gretschguitars.com):

Power, Fidelity & Complete Tonal Control
The all-new G6228 Players Edition Jet™ BT with V-Stoptail gives you powerful overdrive and shimmering cleans at the stomp of a switch.

Chambered Mahogany Bodies — Thick and Acoustically Rich
Each Jet BT begins with a select 1.85" mahogany body with maple top that produces a strong, balanced mid-range while the chambered body delivers a smooth attack and extended bandwidth that is remarkably wide and harmonically rich.

Broad'Tron™ BT65 Pickups – Power & Fidelity
This powerful platform is fueled by all-new Gretsch Broad'Tron™ BT65 pickups. Designed by the famed Tim Shaw, the BT65 meticulously captures the guitar's sonic palette and reproduces powerful mids, extended lows and an exceptionally clear, yet smooth high end. The result is the perfect mixture of wall-shaking power and full-spectrum fidelity that delivers unparalleled overdrive and shimmering cleans — all at the stomp of a switch.

Players Edition Comfort, Control & Performance
The Jet™ BT comes equipped with the Players Edition premium feature set, providing you with total control of your tone.

Why We Love Gretsch

Gretsch has been handcrafting guitars for over 135 years. The unique sound of the Gretsch semi-hollow body guitar has become synonymous with rockabilly music, one of the first styles of rock ‘n roll. Gretsch guitars are a favorite among musicians like Chet Atkins, Brian Setzer and George Harrison. At Cream City Music, we love Gretsch too, which is why we always have a huge selection of new, used and vintage Gretsch guitars in stock.
