The SRMS806 is an Ibanez Bass Workshop creation that is the cream of the crop for 6-string basses when it comes to fit, finish, and playability. The Poplar Burl top/Walnut/Mahogany body and Brown Topaz Burst finish make for an exciting aesthetic. The Brown Topaz Burst, Poplar Burl top, and acrylic-inlaid, bound Panga Panga fretboard in particular all come together quite nicely. Speaking of the fretboard, it has a unique multi-scale design, with fanned frets for equalized string tension, as well as ergonomics that put playing comfort first. The Bartolini BH2 dual-coil pickups have a long blade pole piece that balances all six strings remarkably well. Well-rounded yet powerful tone, stunning visuals, and exceptional ergonomic design all contribute to making this SRMS6 Multi Scale bass one of Ibanez’s finest.
