Once a mode has been selected, users can use the onboard Tape Age and Variable controls to dial in anything from a brand-new Space Echo sound to the worn character of a well-loved vintage piece. From there, players can use the Saturation knob to give their signal a warmer, more compressed sound. And, with the expressive Wow & Flutter control, users can conjure up all the natural modulation characteristics that are essential to the legendary Space Echo sound.
For those looking for a little more musical unpredictability and old-school charm, the Repeat Rate and Intensity knobs allow players to create chaotic 'runaway' feedback effects and massive walls of sustaining reverb. Alternatively, for players who prefer a dryer sound, the RE-202 has both a clean setting with zero processing and a RE-201 preamp emulation that adds richness, depth, and warmth.
