Joe Pass was known as the “president of bebop guitar.” Raised near Jamestown, Pennsylvania, as a teenager Joe headed for New York City where his inventive, fluid lines, advanced harmonic knowledge, and seemingly endless well of melodic ideas were immediately recognized. Joe welcomed the opportunity to have his own Epiphone model and his Joe Pass Emperor II is a stunning guitar and a fitting tribute to a player who was a great teacher and a great inspiration to players around the world.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent overall condition. This Emperor-II has a few minor surface scratches, but these are very small and only show in direct light. Plus, it comes with fresh strings and low action, courtesy of Cream City Music's signature setup.
Neck: Maple SlimTaper "C" profile neck with 1.68" nut width, rosewood fretboard, and pearloid block inlays.
Body: Maple body with Spruce top in Natural finish. Floating rosewood bridge, vintage-style gold scroll trapeze tailpiece, tortoise shell-style pickguard with metal "E" logo, and Grover 16:1 ratio machine heads.
Electronics: 2x Alnico Classic humbuckers with three-way switching. 1-neck volume, 1-neck tone, 1-bridge volume, 1-bridge tone.
