Description
This gorgeous ES-5 was just recently acquired from the original owner who kept it in immaculate condition for nearly 30 years. Prior to the Switchmaster, the ES-5 featured a master tone control along with three volume controls for each P-90 pickup. The body shows off lots of gorgeous flame figuring in the maple & the neck is silky smooth & super comfortable to play anywhere on the fretboard. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Superb condition for its age & very clean with only some mild surface scratches.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with multi-layer binding & black side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Gibson Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Single-cutaway, hollow maple body with flame figuring. Multi-layer top & back binding with bound F-holes. Trapeze tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge on a floating rosewood base. 5-ply black pickguard & gold hardware. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 1.12 & is exceptionally resonant with a lovely natural acoustic tone.
Electronics: Three P-90 single coils with black "dog ear" covers. The neck pickup did not originally have a riser, but really needed one so we added it ourselves. Three volume & master tone controls with gold speed knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with original Gibson paperwork. The combination latch broke off, but is included in the case.
