Description
Description: Vintage 1930s – 1940s Kalamazoo KG-14 Acoustic Guitar
Condition: Very good condition overall. Various scratches, nicks, dings, dents and weather checking throughout the instrument. The top has some slight bellying but this does not affect the tone or playability. This guitar is really in great shape for its age! The neck has a slight amount of relief mostly on the bass side but is very straight overall. All parts are original and in perfect working condition. There are no stickers, number or marks on the guitar to denote the specific year. There was a number inked onto the inside of the neck heel but it is illegible.
Body: Single-bound body with spruce top and mahogany back and sides in sunburst finish. Brazilian Rosewood bridge with bone saddle, tiger stripe pickguard and a bound sound hole.
Lower bout: 14 ¾” wide x 4 ¼” deep.
Upper bout: 10 ¼” wide x 3 5/8” deep.
Neck: “V” shaped mahogany neck with Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Three-on-a-strip nickel tuners with ebanoid buttons, 25” scale length.
Playability/Sound: This guitar has a beautiful and unique tone. The sound is very warm and smooth with plenty of resonance and volume on tap. The lows, mids and highs all ring out evenly and have a very natural “woody” sound overall. The “V” shaped neck is extremely comfortable and suitable for any playing style. The action is very comfortable for chords or slide playing alike.
Case: Includes unoriginal hardshell case.
