Description
A rare vintage 1954 Fender Twin-Amp. This is a restoration featuring an original 1954 chassis mated with a fantastic laquered tweed repro cabinet by Vintage Amp Restoration out of St. Louis. The cabinet is loaded with period-correct Jensen P12Q speakers dating to 1960.
Circuit-wise, the amp retains its original Triad transformers and most of the original resistors and potentiometers. All but four of the capacitors were old and unoriginal when we took this amp in, so we chose to replace these with quality modern components. F&T electrolytics were used in the power suplly, and Mallory 150 film capacitors were used in the signal path.
Sound-wise the amp features a killer clean tone--full of deep, woody overtones from the true-to-original pine cabinet. In overdrive, it features a warm, saturated tone that lends itself well to single-note leads. It will make an incredible amp for blues or roots-rock. This vintage amplifier has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sound awesome.
