Description
What makes this guitar special: A warm-sounding dreadnought with tons of character and a phenomenal look, at a more than affordable player’s price. The back of the body on this one showcases a plethora of repaired cracks-the lower bass side sustained a bad fall a few years back and was pieced back together by our luthier. Despite the scars, this one is rich in tone, and projects like a cannon. It’s very nicely balanced, and sure to have you playing for hours.
Cosmetic condition: Player’s grade condition-various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs throughout, with ample weather checking and a few areas of finish wear. The back of the body showcases numerous repaired cracks and chips, as well as some binding repair. The bridge saddle is pretty well worn down, and there is a paper thin gap between the bridge and body that runs just along the center. Please note that a few of the photos of the back of the guitar have been overexposed in order to better highlight the repair work-the color is closer to the brown shown in the photos than the amber displayed in a few.
Body: Double bound solid mahogany body with solid spruce top in natural finish. Tortoise pickguard, single-ring ivoroid rosette, and rosewood bridge with ivoroid bridge pins.
Weight: 4 lb, 4.4 oz
Neck: Semi-chunky mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Black headstock overlay with gold silk-screened Gibson logo and Kluson strip tuners with ivoroid buttons. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and while frets show wear, there’s still a good deal of life left in them. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the length of the fingerboard.
Case: 1960's Gibson hard shell case included.
