Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a beautiful 1957 Gibson ES-125 in great shape for its age! This particular guitar has just a gorgeous resonance. It sounds warm, fat and “woody” unplugged with plenty of volume. It really makes a great acoustic guitar in addition to an electric for this reason. This one also has a nice sunburst finish that stays brighter towards the edges which is a very nice look. On top of everything, the guitar is all original, works perfect and sounds incredible.
Condition: Very good overall shape, especially for its age. There are various minor scratches, nicks, dings, dents and a few small chips throughout the instrument along with some consistent weather checking which gives the guitar a beautiful and authentic vintage look! There is some finish disruption on the front and back of the headstock around the tuners but this is merely cosmetic. The fingerboard and frets are in great shape with light play wear and tons of life left in them. The neck is super comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions perfectly. All electronics and parts are original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound archtop body with a maple top, maple back and mahogany sides in sunburst finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with a compensated rosewood bridge. Skirted control knobs and dual f-holes. The original pickguard is missing.
Neck: Super comfortable and very nicely rounded mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Three-on-a-strip nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons, 24.75” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original dog ear P-90 pickup in the neck with master volume and tone controls.
P-90: 8.41K Ohms.
Weight: 5lbs, 13.5oz.
Case: Includes the original hardshell case. One latch is bent and the current leather handle works but is fragile. The case is otherwise in good shape.
