Description
Cosmetic Condition: Cool vintage vibe & an excellent player! The bass has been heavily modified & most of its originality is gone, so what we have here is truly a player's grade vintage bass. There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & play wear. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: The neck has been shaved down a bit & has a slender profile - more like a Jazz Bass. The fingerboard is a beautiful slab rosewood with clay dot inlays. The bass has been refretted & the frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. The headstock decal & tuners appear to be original & are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straigh & truss rod works fine. The neck plate serial number is 38533 & dates the bass to 1959.
Body: Contoured solid alder body refinished in Olympic White. It appears to be a polyurethane finish. The date in the pickup cavity reads 7/59. The bridge & saddles appear to be original, but the 3-ply mint pickguard is not. Bridge & pickup covers are missing. Bass weighs 8 lbs 6.5 oz.
Pickups: Unoriginal, newer P-Bass pickups with good, strong output - 11.18K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs, which appear to be original. Unoriginal pots & wiring. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Playability / Sound: Nice, low action - neck is very comfortable & plays great up & down the fingerboard. The bass is light weight & very resonant with that classic P-Bass tone!
Case: Unoriginal tweed hardshell case.
