Description

What makes this guitar special:  100% original & in great shape for being over 50 years old!  The back of the body shows off more of an ice tea burst finish with a little more reddish color along the edges, whereas the top is a bit darker & more of a tobacco burst.  There some lovely grain patterns in the maple & the neck is super comfortable with a transitional nut width of 1 5/8".  The Pat No humbuckers sound amazing with a warm, rich tone.  The guitar has a sweet, acoustic resonance with a marvelous sound.  We can't say enough about this gorgeous guitar - tons of fun to play & hard to put down!

Cosmetic Condition:  Excellent condition for its age with typical light play wear - minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & mild weather checking.  The serial number on the label inside the body has been scratched through & is barely legible.  The serial number on the back of the headstock has had its original inked numbers scratched over, but they appear to read 134818.  You can still see some of the inked numbers underneath the scratched in ones.  Aside from that the guitar is really issue-free.

Neck:  Slender profile, one-piece mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots.  Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays.  Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them.  Double-lip Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length.  Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.

Body:  Double-bound, semi-hollow maple body with dual F-holes.  Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware.  Guitar weighs 8 lbs 0.2 oz - great weight!

Pickups:  Gibson Patent Number humbuckers with nickel covers & black bezels.  Bridge - 7.22K ohms; Neck - 8.38K ohms.  Dual volume & tone controls - gold "top hat" knobs with silver inserts & 3-way toggle switch.  Pots date to '63 with bumble bee cap & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case:  Original Lifton hardshell case included along with original Gibson paperwork & a vintage Gibson leather strap.  The case has some tears in the tolex, but is in otherwise great shape.
