What makes this guitar special: 100% original & just recently acquired from the second owner who only owned it for a very short period of time. An absolutely fantastic SG Junior, sporting a fat neck & dynamite sounding P-90 single coil. The guitar has a wonderful, natural acoustic resonance to it & rings like a bell. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it plays great & sounds amazing!
Cosmetic Condition: Typical play wear for its age with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are a few cracks in the pickguard near the screws & one little piece that chipped off. The cherry finish is still quite vibrant throughout most of the guitar, although it has faded somewhat on the back of the neck, giving it a bit of a sunburst appearance. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, wide profile, one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some moderate wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Solid, one-piece mahogany body. Wrap-around, compensated bridge with nickel hardware & 3-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 0.4 oz.
Pickup: P-90 single coil with black "dog ear" cover - 8.98K ohms. Master volume & tone controls - black "top hat" knobs with silver inserts. The words volume & tone have worn off over the year. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original Gibson chipboard case included along with the original strap. The case is in about the same condition as the guitar - perfectly aged!
