Description

What makes this guitar special: A superb vintage player, in remarkable cosmetic shape with dynamite playability & a great vibe. This beautiful transition era Jaguar features a bound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with clay dot inlays, and a lightweight alder body with fantastic resonance. Professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, this piece will arrive ready to play.

Cosmetic condition: Terrific shape for its age, with some good honest wear. There are various light scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs present, with visible weather checking throughout. Frets show wear consistent with age, and as a result there is some fret buzz present on the treble side in the first position. The high-E string tuner is unoriginal, as is the pickguard. There is one notable chip in the finish on the bottom side of the guitar, and some chipping in the finish on the headstock. Overall, this one has a great look to it, with a beautiful patina.

Body: Contoured offset alder body in sunburst finish. 5-ply reproduction tortoise pickguard with two-post six-saddle bridge and threaded saddles. Original string mute has dried up with time. Fender patent # tremolo tailpiece functions great.

Weight: 8 lb, 0.5 oz

Neck: Slim solid maple neck with some nice birdseye figuring. Bound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in great shape with no pitting. Black side dots. Pearl dot inlays. 1 5/8” nut width, 24” scale length. Original Kluson tuners with one replacement Ping tuner on the high-E string. Neck is straight and truss rod is functional. Original bridge cover included. Neck heel dates to September of ’65.

Electronics: Dual single coil pickups with rhythm and lead circuits. Dual control wheels for individual volume & tone in rhythm circuit. 3 individual toggles in lead circuit. Black witch hat knobs, 1x master tone, 1x master volume. Pots date to ’65 and all electronics are fully functional.

Case: Unoriginal vintage Wurlitzer hard shell case included. Case is a bit loose fitting, but does the job fine.
