What makes this bass special: 100% original & in fabulous condition for its age. The only issue is the bridge is missing the mute assembly, but everything is in perfect working condition. The cherry finish is still quite strong & vibrant. The single neck humbucker sounds beautiful & delivers a warm, punchy tone. Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition for being 50 plus years old - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, mild weather checking & some very light buckle rash on the back. Overall the bass has a wonderful look to it with a great vintage vibe.
Neck: Semi-chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Open-back nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body. Top-loading bridge with missing mute assembly. 3-ply small black pickguard shows some scratches, but is in great shape overall with no cracks & still has the original wooden finger rest. Bass weighs 7 lbs 3 oz.
Pickup: Neck humbucker with nickel cover. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '65 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original Gibson chipboard case included.
