Description
What makes this guitar special: This is everything you want in a vintage SG Junior. A snarling P90 in tandem with solid mahogany construction provides all the grit and tenacity you need sonically, and it weighs in at just under 6 lbs –perfect for long nights of playing. It has a wildly comfortable chunky neck, and is one of the last to come with the wide nut, before the switch to 1 9/16”. Cosmetically, this one is chock full of mojo-beautifully figured weather checking runs throughout the instrument, and while it's certainly been loved, it’s in great shape with tons of life ahead of it. Professionally setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this beauty will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Great overall condition, with some expected play wear throughout. Various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, chips, and scuffs, with a few areas of finish wear and ample weather checking throughout. There is a notable chip in the finish behind the 7th fret, and a gouge in the top near the input jack that was long-ago covered by a piece of pickguard material. The D & G string tuners are bent, but work fine.
Body: Solid mahogany body in cherry finish with 3-ply black pickguard and wraparound stoptail bridge. Added multi-ply black input jack cover.
Weight: 5 lb, 15.7 oz
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape with no pitting. Original frets show some wear, but are in good shape with a lot of life left. Original Klusons work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: Original P90 single coil pickup (9.39k ohms) and black tophat knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume. Pots date to ’64 and all electronics are fully functional.
