Description
Cosmetic Condition: 100% original with a super sweet vintage vibe & a totally outrageous flame maple neck! Seriously folks, you rarely see flame figuring like this on old Fenders, and certainly never on a Mustang! This guitar is way too cool! Cosmetically it has the perfect look for a nearly 50-year old guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some light finish wear. The original store sticker where the guitar was sold is still on the back of the headstock. It has been professionally set up by us with a fresh pack of strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing. There have been no repairs or modifications. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina. A real gem & a definite must have for any collector.
Neck: Very comfortable & nicely rounded maple neck with lots of stunning flame figuring. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. F tuners with cream buttons in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24" scale length. Neck is straight & truss works fine. Neck stamp reads 16 AR 66 B.
Body: Offset, double-cutaway solid body finished in red. 3-ply pearloid pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Dynamic Vibrato tailpiece with original trem arm. Adjustable bridge with barrel saddles. Guitar weighs just under 8 lbs.
Pickups: Original Fender single coils date to '66. Neck - 5.78K ohms; Bridge - 5.44K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with both pots also dating to '66. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The case is a bit rough with some torn tolex & a missing handle, but still serves its purpose well.
