Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for a 50-year old bass with good, honest play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & lacquer checking throughout. Overall the bass has a cool look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Soft V-shaped maple neck with nicely aged cream binding. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show moderate wear & have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with raised Hofner logo. Open-back tuners in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width with zero fret; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Violin-shaped hollow body with 4-ply bound top & back. Solid spruce arched top, maple sides & flame maple arched back with some really nice figuring in the wood. Trapeze tailpiece, adjustable ebony bridge & white pearloid pickguard. The guard has warped a bit, but is in great shape overall with no cracks. Bass weighs 4 lbs 9.7 oz.
Electronics: Hofner "staple" pickups with black bezels. "Tea cup" volume knobs with Rhythm/Solo, Bass & Treble switches. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
