Description
What makes this guitar special: A real rock n roll beast & a true road warrior with some tasteful mods. This was obviously someone's favorite guitar, as evidenced by the heavy play wear. The original trapeze tailpiece was replaced with a more Gibsonesque stopbar & bridge. The DeArmond humbuckers sound fantastic & deliver rich, dynamic tones. Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds great!
Cosmetic Condition: Well used over the years with lots of wear & tear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & finish wear. There are filled screw holes in the bottom of the body from the original tailpiece & also in the bass horn from a previous strap button. The headstock overlay has shrunk a bit over the years & has come loose a bit around the edges, but it's firmly attached to the headstock. Overall the guitar has a great look to it, with an authentic vintage vibe & nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream bind & black side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Mother of pearl Chesterfield & Guild headstock inlays. Nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Semi-hollow mahogany body with dual F-holes. 3-ply binding on the top & back. Unoriginal stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge. Black plexi 'stairstep' pickguard shows pick wear, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 11.1 oz.
Pickups: Original DeArmond humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 6.63K ohms; Neck - 6.65K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with original Guild knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Jack plate is unoriginal. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
