Description
What makes this guitar special: A superb '68 Tele with some mods which make it very affordable. The guitar was refinished quite some time ago, but still shows off that cool vintage look. It was originally a Bigsby model but was converted to a standard strings-through bridge most likely around the time it was refinished. Evidence of the original Bigsby can be seen on the top of the body in the form of a faint outline. The original screw holes were filled before the refinish. The bridge pickup was replaced with a Seymour Duncan Antiquity. Aside from that the rest of the guitar is original & comes with its original hardshell case. Professionally set up by our luthier so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Cool vintage vibe with moderate play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some light finish wear. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with good, honest play wear & a beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. "F" tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 3 NOV 68 B.
Body: Solid ash body refinished in blonde. The blonde finish is a bit darker than most blondes from this era & has an almost mustard color to it, but still very cool looking. Original bridge plate with unoriginal brass "barrel" saddles. Bridge cover is missing. Original 3-ply white pickguard has aged nicely & has one small chip near one of the bass-side screws. The underside is pearloid & there's some black marker around the neck pickup hole. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 3.4 oz.
Pickups: Original neck single coil & unoriginal Seymour Duncan Antiquity bridge single coil. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs; pots date to '66. 3-way selector switch with black "top hat". All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
